Clinics are conducted by an Medical Doctor (MD) or a Nurse Practitioner (ARNP), accompanied by a county Public Health Nurse. Clinic days and times vary per county, and all are done by appointment only. These clinics are open to all women regardless of insurance status. There is a fee for these services, and that fee is payable at the time of service. We do bill Blue Cross/Blue Shield and SRS/Medicaid.
The fee for an annual exam is $45.00. This exam includes: pap smear, breast exam, pelvic exam, STD testing as indicated, blood pressure screening, hemoglobin (test for anemia), blood glucose test, nutrition counseling, and an assessment of immunization status.
Birth control methods are available during these clinics. Birth control pills are available by prescription. The prescription will be written for you at the clinic. Fees vary for pills depending on the pharmacy. Condoms are available to purchase at the Health Department for $3.00 per dozen. All birth control methods are thoroughly explained, with attention given to individual needs and preferences.
Pregnancy tests are also available at our health departments. The fee is $10.00, and payment is due at the time of service. We do bill Blue Cross/Blue Shield and SRS/Medicaid.
